Subject: Lou Sousa

I just received word from Mark Roemer that Lou Sousa died at his home in Fayetteville, North Carolina early this evening (Wednesday, July 29th). He had been struggling with heart disease and leukemia the past several months. This was complicated with pneumonia in the last few days. He leaves behind his wife Jenny, two sons (Phil and Ricky) and some grandchildren (not sure how many).

Lou was with A/1/11th SFGA at Fort Devens for many years serving as the Company Supply Sergeant and then as a team member on SFODA 114. He later went on active duty in the early 80s for quite a few years serving in SWCS. He retired from active duty and settled in his retirement years in Fayetteville. During his retirement years he picked up a number of hobbies; one of them being gunsmithing.

I am very sorry to know about Lou Sousa death.
I visited Lou and Jenny In Fayetteville, NC, with my then husband Mark L. Roemer, who was good freind with Lou and Jenny, and later in Summer of 2009, Kevin Murphy told about it in his newsletter to freinds about Lou Sousa dying,
May he rest in Peace and I bring my condolences to his family.
Sincerely,
Olga Roemer,
associate member of SFA in Fayetteville NC.
