I went to this year's SMTP Annual Memorial Day Picnic to celebrate the 'Yard' cultural heritage as well as Memorial Day in remembering those who served. Also paid my respects to MSG Jimmy Dean who was the primary reason that the SMTP still exists today. He believed in it enough that he is now buried there. Everyone is always welcome and the get together is every Saturday/Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. A number of current SF & Delta folks attend as well as old school guys (SOG) and others who served with ‘Yards’ in Vietnam ... good stories and lots of comradeship. Hope to see you next year.
