SFA 26 to "adopt" SF soldiers at Camp Brian Woods, Afghanistan
Dear SFA Chapter 26 Members
On a voluntary basis our Chapter plans to “adopt” several deployed active duty SF Teams based out of Camp Brian Woods, FOB Ghanzi. We plan to help support them with several “Care Packages” during the year.
Several important connections to our Chapter to point out here:
Camp Brian Woods was named after SFC Brian Woods, a member of B-2-20th SFG who was KIA in Afghanistan.
LTC Adrian “Bogey” Bogart (former SF Det Commander, SF Company XO, SF Company Commander) in B-2-20 SFG and C-1-20 SFG is the Team Chief at Camp Woods. They are supporting village stability Operations in the Province. Bogey just started his FIFTH one year deployment to OIF/OEF. That is quite commendable.
We would like to use our next Chapter meeting on 6 June 2012 as the 1st collection period for our first SFA 26 Care package.
Coffee, candy, jerky, cookies, non perishable foods, cigars, magazines, toiletries are the most requested items. Please bring any donated items to the 6 June 2012 Chapter meeting.
We would also be pleased with any cash/check donations so we can go purchase these items on behalf of our SF brothers.

11th SF Reunion - Aug 2012
Date: Saturday, 18 August, 2012 From 1200-1730hrs **rain or shine**
Location: Burba Lake Cottage and Recreation Area #15 at Ft Meade, MD
Cost: $25.00 per person
Menu: Burgers and franks, potato salad, assorted side dishes, chips.
Drinks: Beer, soda, wine.
****Local attendees are asked to bring a covered dish, if possible****
If you don’t have valid DoD car sticker or ID card you will need to enter Ft Meade through the Reece Road gate on Route 175 (near the old Group HQ area). Without these you will need your drivers license, auto registration and proof of auto insurance to enter Ft Meade.
The Reunion also raises money for the very worthy Special Operations charities. Money will be raised at the reunion event or you can make a donation when you mail in your registration. The charities will be announced at the reunion.
